Gavari is a spectacular centuries’ old yet largely unknown sacred folk opera tradition in southern Rajasthan. One of the world’s largest, longest & most theatrical spiritual rites, Gavari is an ecstatic 40-day itinerant festival undertaken by scores of different Bhil villages each year to worship their supreme Nature goddess, dramatize Her powers & values. and celebrate their tribal heritage.
